World War Z Film Review~ See It Now In Theaters!

The story revolves around United Nations employee Gerry Lane (Pitt), who traverses the world in a race against time to stop a pandemic that is toppling armies and governments and threatening to decimate humanity itself. (C) Paramount

I was not really sure to expect when I went to World War Z.  I knew it was either going to be pretty good or really bad.  I am happy to say that this was a great movie.

If you are a fan of zombie films, this is one of the better ones that has been made.  I think a lot of people are going to go in thinking that this is a horror film.  I would not categorize it as a horror film.  It is more of a suspenseful thriller.  I was on the edge of my seat most of the movie.  There were a few moments that definitely made me jump.  The first 20 minutes of the film are really intense.  This movie’s plot is constantly moving forward to its very clever conclusion.  I never felt like it was too long.  This movie was the right length at just under 2 hours.

One thing that was really different from other zombie movies that I have seen is that normally it takes at least a few minutes for a person to become a zombie.  In this film, it is almost instant.  It just takes a few seconds.  The zombies in this movie were very creepy.  This movie was not as gory as I thought it would be for being a zombie film.  The filmmakers were definitely aiming for a PG-13 rating instead of an R rating.

This movie definitely focuses mainly on Brad Pitt.  He is in pretty much every scene.  Everyone else really falls into the role of a supporting cast.  No one else has a lot of screen time.  Brad Pitt is really good in this film as a UN investigator searching for a cure for the zombie pandemic.

This movie is definitely an adult movie.  I would not take young children to it.  It is scary and not appropriate for them to see.  It will probably give little kids nightmares.

I really liked World War Z and would watch it again.

World War Z gets bragging rights!

World War Z is rated PG-13.  It is now playing in 3D and 2D theaters.  For more information about the movie, you can go to the film’s official website.
