I love superheroes movies and I have been so excited for Man Of Steel. I was excited for several reasons but mainly because I was excited to see all the amazing people in it. Although it is very different from any of the previous Superman films, I really liked Man of Steel.
The best way for me to describe this movie is that it is the Batman Begins for the Superman series. This movie was meant to change and re-energize the Superman film series. It definitely succeeds at this. This movie is more action packed and darker than any of the other previous films.
The special effects for this movie were spectacular. This movie is extremely action packed and really depends on some pretty amazing visuals., especially with all of Superman different abilities. I am not the biggest fan of 3D but this movie actually had decent 3D effects. It was pretty cool to feel like you were flying with Superman.
I feel that this film was cast very well. There are so many great performances in this movie that you really cannot focus on them all. For me, Henry Cavill was great as Superman. This movie does not focus much at all on the nerdy, reporter Clark Kent that we know. I think they will develop more of that side of Superman in the sequel, which has already been announced by Warner Bros. This movie is mainly just about the Superman persona. I loved Amy Adams as Lois Lane in this film. Adams makes this character her own. I really liked Laurence Fishburne as Perry White. Although he is not in many scenes, I loved all of them he was in. I am really hoping they use him a lot more in the future films.
This movie deserves the PG-13 rating. It is very dark and violent. I would be cautious or even see it first before taking any little kids. This is not as quirky or family friendly as the older Superman films. As I said before, this is more like the new Batman series. Dark and action packed.
I really liked Man of Steel and I am looking forward to seeing it again soon!
Man of Steel gets bragging rights!
